We’ve seen the photos and they look spectacular but, as always, the pictures only tell party of the story.
Yesterday a couple of people said to me they were surprised to find it so hard! Why surprised? Snowdon is a bloody great big mountain! It’s going to be tough, its going to be long, there will be steep rocky parts and it will get high!
I’ve been walking mountains since I was a kid but rarely in those hot conditions and never carrying 3 litres of water (if I ache anywhere it’s my back from carrying the pack)! It was always going to be a challenge especially for those who hadn’t done anything like this before. The Mountain Guides said they were very impressed. You should feel proud – it was a fantastic achievement.
And what about our achievement as a club SE Fitness? 48 of us set out on our Snowdon adventure and 48 made it to the summit (and back again)! The youngest of us was only 23 and the oldest were over 65. We are accountants, dentists, teachers, students and retirees well I can add one more to that list we are all mountaineers!
Huge congratulations to every one of the 48 – you did it!
