Great news as the clocks go forward our evening groups will move into the park. One or two safety reminders. Please take care over the uneven terrain especially slippery tree routes, rabbit holes and other similar hazards. It is good form to run with your knees up and toes up. Most people go a bit slower cross country, this is OK because you are getting more of an all over work out. Don’t run too close to the person ahead of you. You need to see where to put your feet and if they do trip they don’t want you landing on top of them!
Be aware of other park users especially cyclists and dogs. Accidents sometimes occur when running out of bright sunshine into the shaded woods as it can leave you unsighted for a moment.
Forgotten those Park Routes? Run Fitness: please keep moving but regroup where requested. Run Plus: 1 Familiarise yourself with the route map before leaving, 2 Make sure you can see a leader or someone who knows the route (make sure they do know and you aren’t just both lost!), 3 Turn around and retrace your steps until you find a leader.
And finally, Sutton Park is a wonderful asset, look up and enjoy!
