Women’s Top Ten
New girl Mairi is straight out in front on our all new Grand Prix mini series thanks to personal bests at both Little Aston and at Walsall 10K on Sunday. (5 extra points if you run your best ever time). Congratulations Mairi!
Several runners close behind on 17 points including Kuli, Kerry, Hazel and Liv. This is a big month now for half marathons so remember whichever one you choose to do you can claim 10 points for finishing.
Please Note Change to Grand Prix Rules
To encourage folks to come on the Windsor Beer Run there’s 5 points for 5K, 7 points for 10K and 10 points for half marathon. Originally I said you could only claim one half marathon but this was unfair to runners who have already done a half marathon and also coming to Windsor. Therefore I have changed the rule so you can claim 10 points for Windsor Beer Run half marathon PLUS 10 points for Any (other) Half Marathon. Hope you agree that’s fair!
Men’s Top Ten
Congratulations to Hazel’s brother Gordon who is out in front for the men. The SE men have been quiet so far but John’s happy to have clocked up his first points and so am I!
The next event on the Grand Prix is Tamworth 10K on Sunday 6th October. This is ranked as one of the best 10K runs in the country. It has a reputation for being flat and relatively fast. I’ve noticed some of our C25K graduates from the summer have been struggling for motivation. This would be the perfect event for you guys to give you a kick start. You can register on the day.
Look out for John he’s running this one with you! Good Luck!
