Thoughts turn to Autumn and for some of us that means the prospect of a half marathon. Our big local event the Simply Health Great Birmingham Run is on 13 October and I hope some of you will join me and sign up now! https://www.greatrun.org/great-birmingham-run
SE Fitness half marathon training will start on Saturday 31st August with a 7 mile run. I’ll schedule extra 55 minute runs into the programme over the summer to help everyone out!
I’ve been thinking about adding a second Autumn Half to our schedule what do you think about one of these? They are all fairly local so, if there was sufficient interest, I could arrange a minibus and possibly a pub Sunday lunch on the way home! Have a look and let me know what you think. Also if you have run one of these races I’m interested to hear what it’s like.
Options
Blenheim Palace Half Sunday 29th September so couple of weeks prior to Birmingham. Upside 10k option as well as half and really beautiful venue. Downside feeling obliged to raise sponsorship money for BHF could make it expensive.
Rutland Water marathon and half marathon. Sunday 22nd September so 3 weeks before Birmingham. Upside mixed terrain, nice setting and option of full marathon and running marathon as a relay team of 4. Might be a bit early for some.
Robin Hood Half Marathon Sunday 29th September. Road route that has a reputation for being quick!
