What an amazing night! Special thanks to Helyn for putting together a great evening, thanks to our leaders for nominating our special inspirational members and thanks to you for making this our best ever Christmas Social.
Every one of you have a made a special journey but we wanted to highlight just 6 stories from 2014:
Christina Peaks journey from buggy walk to the London Marathon
Stan Tanner who joined us as a beginner runner last February only to surprise us and his son by completing the Detroit half marathon in the Autumn of 2014 (and he beat his son!)
Elaine Millington for her determination and committment to SE Fitness. Yet again completing the Great Midlands Fun Run.
Jane Rogers who attends every monday evening come rain and shine despite great personal challenges
Dave Phillips who attends our walks every week – we worked out if he had started walking towards the North Pole on January 1st 2014 he would be 1/5th of the way there now!
Carolyn Dunn when faced with the suggestion to walk the Great Midlands Fun Run said ‘I can’t do that’ however, within 3 months she was training hard and finally turned the ‘I can’t’ into ‘I can’ and ‘I will’ and finally she did. Not only did she finish the Great Midlands Fun Run but she did it in a time of 2 hours and 2 minutes!
What an inspiration for all of us! Let’s make 2015 a year that we all turn ‘I can’t’ into ‘I did’.
