It’s been a busy week for Coronavirus updates and I’m sure we’re all struggling to decide what the new rules mean.
First of all we had the introduction of the ‘Rule of 6’ across England. I’m pleased to report that UK Athletics have released a statement that groups with suitable Covid 19 procedures in place, such as ours, can continue as before without the limitation on numbers. However I think it’s serves as a sharp reminder of the importance of being mindful of the Covid 19 guidelines:
- Good hygiene immediately before and after session
- Keep yourself up to date with government guidance
- Don’t come if you’ve been asked to self isolate / If you feel at all unwell
- Maintain the social distance
Then today the local lockdown for Birmingham City Council and the boroughs of Solihull and Sandwell is introduced. This lockdown is very specific in that it means you cannot host or visit people in private homes and gardens. This does not have an impact on SE Fitness directly but obviously it will be on people’s minds. For this reason we need to be extra careful with each other and with members of the public when we are out and about.
I appreciate that in these uncertain times the ability to meet back up in SE Fitness groups, to inject that normal routine into our lives and to reconnect with our friends has been a lifeline for many. In light of announcements this week I’m asking you to support your Leaders and be vigilant about adhering to the rules (especially the 1m plus rule) so as not to put our that in jeopardy!
Stay Safe everyone and have a good weekend. xx
