History of SE Fitness
SE Fitness was started in 1996 by Sally Ellis as a result of becoming aware of the vast number of young mums who were trying to lose weight but finding it a struggle. Running was a passion of Sally’s and so she wanted to see if she could encourage these people to use walking or running as a way of living more healthy lives.
By 2007 we began to offer beginner running groups and now we offer walking and running groups for all paces from the absolute beginner to those who want to run marathons. We have over 40 leaders (many of whom are volunteers) which means members can attend groups on virtually any day of the week.
Many of our members don’t just join us for the exercise benefits. Our groups are also a great way of socialising and meeting other people in the area. We also offer a host of social activities outside of our walking and running groups.
