Getting to know….Sheila McMahon
Larger than life SE Fitness walker Sheila tells us how she got into walking and talks about her interest in mental health issues.
How did you get started with SE Fitness?
I joined the group as I kept bumping into the group every time I went for a walk in Sutton park. Someone voiced “You should be walking with us” so I asked them about it, found out the details and joined!
What’s the best thing about coming for a walk with us?
The best thing for me is the social side. I love talking, laughing and driving the leader Jenny “Nagger” Hill crazy along the way having the craic!
My favourite season is the autumn as the colours are amazing! I like all the routes.
Can you recommend a walk anywhere else?
If I can’t be on the Sutton walk then another walk I like is along the canal near where I live in Mile Oak.
As a Counsellor I find that exercise is extremely important for mental wellbeing and also connecting with people. As a comedienne I think we all need a good laugh! SE Fitness ticks all the boxes – happy days!
