So Saturday is week 2 of our half marathon training and an 8.5 mile route planned which is loosely based on the Fun Run route backwards (very loosely)! This means it’s a tough start on the roads past the Town Hall, turning left on Anchorage Road and following Lichfield Road up to Four Oaks Gate. The good news is that you then get to run down Cardiac Hill, past the Bistro and all the way to the Totem Pole. Up the the Jamboree Memorial where you add on a mile (not part of Fun Run) by running straight past the Jamboree and as far as the long car park where you turn and run back again. Head towards Miller and Carter to run out the gate at Boldmere where you turn left and run back to Wyndley. More good news we are not running the length of Monmouth Drive!
Remember Birmingham Half is a week ahead of our Windsor outing so you really need to up to 9.5 miles this week. Several of the Leaders will be adding one mile at the end of the run. The plan is to run straight past Wyndley, into the park at Town Gate then back along the road through the park to Wyndley Ford. You are welcome to join them for this extra mile!
Gentle reminder half marathon training is £4 rather than your usual £3 so please remember your extra quids!
As last week meet in HQ from around 8.30 for warmup on the track and then aim to set off on our training run about 9.00am.
