So week 4 of our half marathon training and really into the business end of it now with 11.5 miles scheduled. This should be the last long run if your aim is the Great Birmingham Run so you might want to add a mile. Next week feel free to join us again. Windsor people will be running their last long run of 12.5 miles but Birmingham people need to cut that short as a taper run. 6 miles should be plenty for you.
Please note Tammy is coming to lead Run Fitness 2 this week so you can have a proper cross country SE Fitness Run! Thanks for bearing with us. Mandy, Becky and Jenny leading C25K, 5to10K and Walk plus as usual. I could really do with a marshal to stand near the Bistro and direct runners out of Hartopp Gate and up Hartopp Road. If you’re free please volunteer and earn your 5 grand prix points!
Our 11.5 mile route attached starts along Monmouth Drive (use the pavement if you prefer but cross the road safely) and heads into the park at Banners Gate. Up to the crossroads and left to the Jamboree Memorial for the first time. Sharp right down towards Town Gate and then left past the Carvery and up to the Bistro. Over Railway Bridge take a right and run out of Hartopp Gate and left up Hartopp Road until you reach Four Oaks Road. Turn left here and run all the way down Streetly Lane (following the circumference of the park) until you reach Streetly Gate. Here run into the park and up to Jamboree for the second time (10 miles). From here run past the ice cream van taking the right fork to the cross roads where you turn left down Spider Hill and home!
See you Saturday!
