So this week Saturday 7th August we begin to ease ourselves into half marathon training. We are aiming for 10K at a nice steady pace. Run Fitness and Run plus groups will be running this straightforward route which goes out to Streetly Gate and back again. Anyone not wishing to run the full 10K just turn back earlier (turn back at Jamboree Memorial for 4 miles total or horse box car park for 5 miles total).
Your Leaders are Andre, Helen H, Carrie and me so we can look after a range of pace. Everyone joining should already be comfortable running 10K so use this week as an opportunity to settle into your stride and meet some of the other people embarking on this half marathon journey with you.
If you are not already in one of our Saturday morning WhatsApp Groups please message Helyn on 07788 628755 and I will add you. We will use this group to confirm attendance and check in with everyone afterwards.
Please note we will NOT have bike support at the majority of our training runs this year. This means you need to be prepared to carry your own water and fuel (as the runs get longer). We would also highly recommend that you carry your phone.
It feels a long time since I trained for a half marathon so I feel nervous, as I’m sure some of you do, but I am looking forward to your company, the challenge and very excited because it looks like Palma Half Marathon might be back on! Look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
