A busy night for SE Fitness!
A huge milestone for my Couch to 5K group (pictured). 13 runners completing their One Mile Challenge! First time some of the guys have ever run that far without stopping. A team half marathon – well done guys so proud!
Kenyan Hills session lead by John, Hazel and Jess for the regular run groups making them stronger, more efficient and faster! Quickest runners (including a guest appearance by Pam’s son Dylan) took in six hills, over a distance (with warm up and cool down) of around 5.5 miles and pace of 8’30 per mile. Our 10 minute mile group completed 5 hill reps and so a slightly shorter distance of around 4 miles. On your own this session would be really unpleasant and hard work but with a good group of around 20 runners it’s much more fun. All finished smiling and high on endorphins!
Debra was leading the Walk plus group tonight. Half a dozen walkers striding out at a good brisk pace for just under 4 miles.
Finally ten runners in our 5 to 10K group lead by Tammy and Julie. After their long run at the weekend this group has a recovery run tonight 3.7 miles at a pace somewhere between 11 and 12 minutes per mile.
As one of our runners put on STRAVA: “Great group of runners to be out with, so much fun. What a brilliant way to spend an evening.”
