It’s that time of year when, in a rush of blood to the head, we all start signing up for various events!
Perhaps you’re thinking of beating your best 10K or perhaps going for your first 10K? Maybe you just want to get rid of the Christmas pudding that seems to have wedged itself at your waistline! Anyway SE Fitness speedwork is a great way of enhancing your running. Any training plan you look at will include some type of weekly interval session – these are incredibly difficult to face on your own!
At SE Fitness speedwork we have different types of runner, all looking for different things but all with a goal in mind. It’s a supportive and encouraging atmosphere rather than a competitive one, although I guess it does get a little bit competitive now and again, but mainly with yourself. Speedwork works by running shorter intervals faster than you normally would so that, in time, the faster pace starts to feel more comfortable. It really works and is great for endurance and pace judgement. It is also good at raising the metabolism which can help if you’re trying to shed pounds.
