As we near the end of our Couch to 5K programme our idea is to work with our new runners and help them graduate to our next group 5to10K.
To facilitate the move, which can be daunting, both groups will be following the same programme until the end of the year. This means that all sessions have at least two leaders so there’s always a leader at the back to give the C25K graduates confidence! **
Although the group is called ‘5to10K’ fear not we will be keeping the routes nearer the 5K end of things through December! I don’t think anyone would thank me for sticking in very long runs during December.
I’ve put a mix of sessions into the programme to keep it interesting. Some out and back, a variety of fun and fast and a range of cross-country routes around 3.5 miles. Something for everyone!
I hope that experienced 5 to10K runners will use this time to help welcome our ‘graduates’ into the group and perhaps ‘buddy’ up. Remember they are nervous as you once were and will really appreciate your support, encouragement and words of wisdom!
