SE Fitness welcomes all types of runner into our Run Fitness and Run plus groups. Some of our runners like to enter events and get quite competitive but many come for the social aspect and because they enjoy running but like to go at their own pace. Whatever your reason for running you are very welcome at SE Fitness.
Our runners find that running with a group helps with motivation and can also help develop endurance and pace. We have a separate leader at each pace 11, 10, 9 and 8 minutes per mile, we have made special training.
Our Run Fitness and Run Plus groups follow a mixed programme of shorter runs (45 minutes) or longer runs (55 minutes) and some informal ‘fun & fast’ sessions. We also offer two training programmes per year designed to build the long run for the Great Midlands Fun Run (8.5 mile) and for the Great Birmingham Run (half marathon).
How far will we run?
The general programme offers distances of between 4 and 6.5 miles depending on your pace. The session lasts between one hour and one hour 15 minutes with the warm up and cool down.
Where will we run?
All our runs are on the trails of Sutton Park except on dark evenings when we use the roads surrounding the Park.
Testimonials
‘Just a quick one to say I’m fortunate to run with you lovely bunch but I just want to say what a privilege it is. And especially during these difficult times I just want to give a little shout out, and a little praise!! to our lovely Andre, I have ran in his group the last two Saturdays, and he is the most polite thoughtful and courteous and always puts other park users first. All your leaders do a fantastic job!’ Kelly
