For the benefit of our newer members a few safety pointers for running at night:
- Wear hi viz so that motorists can see you. A hi viz lightweight vest to go over your own gear is only a £5. Buy at evening sessions or from Sportology on Boldmere High St.
- No headphones to be worn at any time. You need to listen for hazards.
- Look both ways before crossing the road! Sounds obvious but when you’re tired at the end of a run can be very easy to just follow the person ahead.
- Give each other plenty of room when running around pavement hazards such as bins, parked cars.
