It’s that time of year when you find yourself driving to work in the dark and back home again too. You barely see the light of day from one weekend to the next. That’s why it’s so important to get outside at the weekend. Studies show that just two hours a week outside is important for health and well being. Findings from a government study found that people who spend at least 120 minutes in nature a week are significantly more likely to report good health and higher psychological wellbeing than those who don’t visit nature at all during an average week.
It doesn’t matter too much what you do whether you come for a run, go for a walk with the family or spend some time tidying up the garden. The benefits come from being outside, in nature and accessing that Vitamin D. SE Fitness Saturday Sessions are a great way of getting your ‘time outdoors’. They are also social and done by 10.00am so plenty of time to get home and get on with the Christmas jobs!
