A reminder that our evening groups will be transitioning to the road routes over the next couple of weeks now that the evenings are getting dark. Please note it is a safety requirement in our groups that you wear a hi viz top. If you need to buy one then you can purchase SE Fitness gear from Sportology in Boldmere, either online or in store. The hi viz yellow tabard is just £5.50 and can be worn over anything.
Other safety reminders:
Be alert – there are additional safety hazards to running on pavements such as reversing cars, cars parked on pavements, trip hazards such as kerbs. Please be stay aware when out with us on an evening and keep safe.
Road safety – cross the road carefully and preferably at zebra crossings, pedestrian lights etc. Try to run on the pavement. If it is necessary to run in the road then stick to the right hand side facing the oncoming traffic.
Headphones – headphones should not be worn.
Leaders – Please support your leader and the rest of your group. Regroup when asked, stick to a pace suitable for your group. If you are consistently running faster than your group then ask your leader about moving on a group. We can support you and it will be better for your fitness long term and takes the pressure off everyone else!
