Giving your body time to rest is a crucial part of running but one that we often neglect. At SE Fitness lots of you have had a hard year of running and we are starting to see a few injury worries.
Why not take it a bit easier for the next few weeks and let your body recover? We want to maintain the routine so here are a few things to consider:
- Do you really need to run flat out every time? Choose a day for an easy run and catch up with your running buddies.
- Can you reduce your weekly mileage? If you are not in training do you need that extra long run at the weekend?
- Swap one of your runs for a bike ride or a swim.
- Try a sports massage.
- Try Yoga or a Stretch class.
- Get plenty of sleep!
