When you want to run at speed use a fast arm action – powerful but relaxed. UK Athletics call it ‘sockets to pockets’ where your hand brushes against your pocket on the backward drive then comes level with your shoulder socket in front. I thought I’d use a photo of someone else this week to demonstrate! In a change to the programme it’s new Fun and Fast session tomorrow which I’ve called Hare and Hounds. It’s on the road and hopefully it will be a great chance for us to practise the ‘sockets to pockets’!
